WIP Wednesday: Knitting A Cloud

Designing

I'm working on a few new projects including this new design – an airy top-down pullover. The yarn is Giselle by Classic Elite, a wool/nylon/mohair blend. I hadn't worked with mohair in a long time and almost forgot about it's sticky nature.

It brought me back to memories of knitting Birch and having to cast something like 299 sts. Ripping Cutting twice before I finally got it right.

Despite mohair's nature, I am loving how this is coming out and knitting it with my pointy Addi lace needles is helping with the stickage. Hooray.

Stitches West is this weekend. I am going and making a full weekend of it. Knitting, drinking and hanging with good friends. I CANNOT wait! If you'll be there please say hello! I'll be the one drooling at all the fabulous yarn.

Sutro Wrap

Sutro Wrap

A new knitted love.

Perhaps my favorite part of it (besides it's simplicty) is that it can be worn so many different ways. Tied above, draped below, or wrapped around the body.

The yarn is Noro Kogarashi, a lovely silk wool blend.

Buy via Ravelry or Craftsy. Wear madly and often.

A pair of sweethearts

Sweetheart Cozies

When I first started drinking coffee I only drank iced. The thought of burning my tounge on a bitter drink was silly and somewhat masochistic. I had what a friend would call "cake in a cup." Iced coffee with milk and sugar.

I eventually transitioned to 2% and then to skim.  Soon I didn't even take milk in my coffee and began to drink a sip of hot cups here and there and all of a sudden I begain drinking more hot than cold! And here I am with a Kuerig machine to boot!

But a hot cup makes for burned hands and not a happy Margaux make. I'd seen coffee cozies before but add a bit of pinterest inspiration and here we have Sweetheart Cozies.

Sweetheart Cozies

Two halves when put together make a whole. Cozies for a pair of partners, lovers, best friends and most of all java lovers.

Get the pattern here! (eta, decided to make this a freebie for all you lovers out there! Enjoy!)

Happy Valentines Day!

xoxo

When I see something like this on Pinterest I think to myself – this is SO easy and yet so stylish.

(not to mention it's grey!)

Garter Stitch

So of course I feel the need to knit one of my own. A simple garter triangle shawl – yarn is Kogarashi from Noro. A fabulous blend of wool, alpaca and silk. One of the more softer Noro yarns around.

It has already become one of my go to knit night projects as well as the only thing I could work on during the Superbowl. (YAY Giants!)

Gotta love garter.
