Weekend In Review

It all started Friday night at A Verb for Keeping Warm in Oakland, CA.

@ a Verb for Keeping Warm

My favorite two gals, Courtney Kelley and Kate Gagnon Osborn were going to be there signing their book, Vintage Modern Knits, and I didn't want to miss the chance to see them! There was also a Fibre Company trunk show.

So much Fibre Co!

A Verb For Keeping Warm

A Verb For Keeping Warm is a goregous space – open, inviting and inspiring. They sell fabric, fiber and yarn. They even have their own label of natural organic yarns which the owner dyes in house.

On Saturday my husband and I decided to take our first trip to Napa to celebrate our two year wedding annversary.  We did a lot of this:

Wine Tasting
and some of this:

Playing Bocci!

I even brought home some yarn from the Robert Sinskey winery. (maybe even from this lil guy.) The story behind their winery is facinating and I enjoy giving them my wine drinking business!

My two favorite things!

(Not to mention, fact that the wine is called "Three Amigos" really connected with my husband and I. Obviously where we thought Lucky Day, Dusty Bottoms and Ned Nederlender they really meant 3 of their vineyards.)

Before we headed home on Sunday we stopped at Yarns on First, a very cute shop in downtown Napa. The saleswoman was very helpful and welcoming. I highly recommending going if you're in that area. I even came home with some more yarn (shocker!). A baby alpaca, wool and linen blend called Soft Linen from Classic Elite. The wheels are turning on what to make with this!

Soft Linen

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend, too!

The Fibre Company yarn looks gorgeous. I have been looking for Canopy fingering and can’t seem to get my fingers on any. I’ve been to almost every yarn store in MI that carries FC and have to find any to stock fingering weight- what a bummer!
